PRESIDENTS
The PRESIDENTS lead the Advisory Board. The President and Vice President were first elected in 2012 by Adviosry Board members. Elections are to be held every two years of two Officers: a President; a Vice-President. The President, or in his/ her absence the Vice- President, shall preside at all meetings. At the final meeting of the Association, the President with the Administrator shall present to the meeting a report of the activities of the Association during the year. This shall include a summary of matters recommended for action by the Advisory Board.
PRESIDENT - DR. ROD HAVRILUK, PH.D (Scientific Advisor)
- Rod has a Ph.D. in human performance. Although he specializes in biomechanics, he has also maintained both a research and applied interest in skill learning and injury prevention. He is one of the most widely published authors on swimming technique and has made presentations to coaches and sport scientists all over the world.
- University Level Instructor and NCAA Div-1 Coach, 10-years
- Has conducted human performance research with Olympic athletes
- Presents at National and International Swim Conferences
- Medical Testing Staff at US Olympic Trials
- Dr. Rod’s research has produced 3 patents producing the Aquanex Swim Technology (see website above)
- “Aquanex+ Video” was selected as a finalist for Product Design & Development’s 2003 Engineering Awards
VICE PRESIDENT- DR Daniel Almeida Marinho DPT, CSCS (Biomechanics Advisor)
- PhD in Sport Sciences at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD, Vila Real)
- President of the Sport Sciences Department of the University of Beira Interior (UBI, Covilhã).
- Member of the Scientific Committee of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the University of Beira Interior (UBI, Covilhã).
- Full member of the Research Centre in Sports, Health and Human Development (CIDESD, Portugal).
- Areas of scientific study include; Biomechanics and Bioenergetics of Sports, Training, and Swimming.

ISOSC President and Vice President
The International Society of Swimming Coaching is pleased to announce that our Advisory Board has elected Rod Havriluk as ISOSC President and Daniel Marinho as Vice President. They will commence their role as from 16th April 2012 for a two year period. Both are current members of the Advisory Board.

Research Grant
The mission of the International Society of Swim Coaches Foundation (ISOSCF) is to support the Mission of the International Society of Swim Coaches (ISOSC) by providing funding for educational and research activities that enhance the sport of swimming. It is the goal of the ISOSCF to be recognized as a leader in providing funds to support the research of students and faculty members in areas that relate to swimming. This information packet outlines the available grant opportunities and contains the application. All general and specific guidelines for each respective program are outlined and should be closely read by the applicant to ensure all guidelines have been met prior to submission.
Applicants for student research grants must have graduate student status during the term of the grant to be considered for funding. At the time of application, student applicants must be a member of the ISOSC and all faculty co-investigators or applicants must have maintained concurrent ISOSC membership for a period of at least one year prior to the submitted or postmarked grant application as verified by the ISOSC office. Grants are open to all members of the ISOSC. Applicants are not eligible to receive more than one scholarship or grant in any given year, however applications can be made to more than one program in any given year. Applicants are only eligible to receive each award twice and any further applications will not be accepted for that program from the applicant. ISOSC employees and their families are ineligible to receive financial awards. All grant applications must be submitted by March 13. Incomplete application packets will not be accepted and will not be returned to the applicant. A complete application must be submitted for every program in which an application is being made. Additional instructions and guidelines are provided in the appendix to this application.
It is anticipated that the requested support will range from $300 to $1,000 total costs for mailings, supplies, equipment and technical support. The principal investigator will assume full administrative, fiscal, ethical, and scientific responsibility for the conduct of the project.
